At Vietnam Rise we are dedicated to supporting grassroots social movements in Vietnam. Our programs empower local communities through movement incubation, fellowship and training initiatives. Our founders are experienced leaders on strategic human rights campaigning, movement building, and digital security in Vietnam.

We advocate for human rights, and promote social justice across various sectors. We are passionate about fostering social change from the ground up. As part of our expansion in Southeast Asia, we are seeking a passionate and experienced Regional Program Officer to help us strengthen our presence, foster multi stakeholder partnerships, and build a network of collaborators in the region.

Role Overview:
The Regional Program Officer will play a key role in expanding our presence and impact throughout Southeast Asia. You will be responsible for outreach, building and nurturing relationships with local CSOs, regional and international NGOs and other stakeholders such as the UN, government officials.  This role involves communicating Rise’s visions and strategies to regional partners, and organizing  online and offline events and facilitating collaboration to ensure the success of our regional programs and advocacy work. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • NGO Outreach & Collaboration: Build and maintain partnerships with local and regional NGOs and activists across Southeast Asia. You will be the  primary liaison between Vietnam Rise and regional partners.

  • Regional Presence: Increase the organization’s visibility and impact in the Southeast Asia region through outreach, collaboration, and strategic communication efforts.

  • Event Organization: Plan and execute small networking events and our annual SMF NGO roundtable.

  • Advocacy and participation in regional working groups: Engage in regional working groups and networks and contribute to advocacy work.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Strong understanding of the regional civil society and advocacy landscape. Proven experience in working with civil society organizations and its stakeholders in Southeast Asia.  It’s considered an advantage if you know the Thai political landscape and the regional UN mechanism. 

  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders and 

  • Commitment to Social Movements: Commitment to social justice and grassroots movements. A passion for working with marginalized communities.

  • Language Skills: Proficiency in English is required; Vietnamese is not required.

You will be working remotely and will have a flexible work schedule. There will be some regional travel opportunities.
